10 TIPS to Improve your English Communication Skills

To Speak English Fluently and Confidently Follow 10 Simple Tips:



1. Believing in Yourself  

Start with believing in yourself. “I was afraid to speak. ...now I can…..”,  sometimes speaking English is just a matter of your level of self-confidence than anything else. So be and feel confident!

2. Listen, and then…Speak

Remember you learned your mother-tongue by listening to your parents and siblings speak to each other. Listen to English News Channels, YoutTube videos, English Serials, Songs, etc.

3. Keep Your Ears Open. 

English is everywhere... You need to be interested and observant. to catch new words and phrases. Try copying styles of good speakers as you would copy your favorite film star!

4. Find the Answer in the Question

Use the art of word jugglery…this will happen with practice as it is a skill.

5. Make the Mirror your Best Friend

Make your videos. Practice in peer groups…remember the best movie shots happen after a number of re-takes!

6. Read Full Sentences

Comprehend what you read…apply different reading styles as per the type of text you are dealing with.

7. Keep Calm and Do Not Worry about Grammar

Some mistakes are ok in the initial phase and will be rectified with time…as your familiarity with the language will increase.

8. Find an English Newspaper and Read it Daily 

Read your favorite section in the Newspaper at least for half an hour, if not more.

 9. Learn 3- 5 new English Words a Day

Use the word before it leaves you….your memory… learn 3- 5 new English words a day with flashcards...and you will have a 1000 words strong vocabulary in a year's time. Your confidence will skyrocket as you will have ready words to express yourself in the most lucid and effective manner.

10. Practice...Practice…Practice 

Practice till it makes you perfect...English Communication is a skill ….and any skill can be mastered only by practice! Practice by participation and do not be held back due to fear of mistakes. Each mistake will become your stepping stone for learning!
