Speaking effectively and powerfully is a skill.

For effective oral communication, a basic understanding of Pronunciation is important.


Tips for Improving English Speaking Skills

  Learn 3-5 words per day by using FlashCards Techniques – You can impress people, read any book, understand any conversation and also write very well. Your overall English comprehension will improve.

  Alternatively, you can learn 3 words & 2 root words 

  Use Method of Substitution or Explanation if you cannot recall the exact word.  Explain the word or substitute it if you cannot recall it.

  Start speaking with Family Members or Friends in English – just like Swimming – if you don’t take the plunge in the water you will never learn to swim!

  Make friends with those who speak good English and Practice with them – Just like a Film Star Practices in the Gym every day to maintain his or her body fitness.

  Make mirror your best friend. And practice in front of it. Practice Self-talk.

  Initially use 50% English in conversation & slowly increase it to 70%, 80%, 90% & finally to 100 %.

  Sing English Songs in the bathroom. Learn them with Sub-Titles.

  Use Apps like – AUDIO-BOOKS, GAMES, etc. to make it FUN.

  Try to Speak on some common topics for one minute – JAM – choose 3-4 topics – like - Introduction, Coronavirus, My Hobby, etc.

  Learn by Observation and Listening. Listen to Good Speakers – TED TALKS, etc.

  Watch your Hobby videos in English on YouTube.

  Write a Diary in the evening every day – Your Thoughts preferably in the evening when your day’s work is over.

  Readout loud daily for 15 – 20 mins. You will get used to English Speaking & Pronunciation.
