1. Listening – You should be able to fully understand what you
hear, it’s about listening effectively and listening comprehension –
- You can develop your listening
skills by Use of headphones to listen attentively, pick up words that are
used in sentences with their proper pronunciation.
You can also copy the styles
of various speakers and gradually gain command of spoken English.
2. Speaking – You should be able to
lucidly and fluently express your thoughts and ideas to your target
audience -- Form small groups of 4-5 friends and start conversing in English as
practice. In leadership positions in Corporates and all you will need to
address your employees, attend meetings, make presentations so you will have to
practice now and develop these talents.
3. Reading – You should be able to
understand the written word, fully comprehend the meanings. Understanding in
between the lines is part of reading comprehension – You will have to read
reports, do data interpretations, and make your managerial decisions based on
data.. for that again you will have to develop effective reading comprehension
skills – For this Read an English Newspaper daily - For at
least 30 to 45 minutes, possibly loudly would help to start with.
4. Writing – You should be able to write effectively when it
comes to writing reports, e-mails, memos, paragraphs, etc. - -For writing well a bare minimum target of learning 1000 words of
day-to-day usage along with a splash of idioms and phrases will embellish your
writing skills effectively so start writing a diary… write notes, etc

Newspaper at least for half an hour, if not more.
9. Learn 3- 5 new English
Words a Day
Use the word before it leaves
you….your memory… learn 3- 5 new English words a day with
flashcards...and you will have a 1000 words strong vocabulary in a year's time.
Your confidence will skyrocket as you will have ready words to express yourself
in the most lucid and effective manner.
10. Practice...Practice…Practice
Practice till it makes you
perfect...English Communication is a skill ….and any skill can be mastered only
by practice! Practice by participation and do not be held back due to fear of
mistakes. Each mistake will become your stepping stone for learning!
